I'm talking about like a swiffer duster, not the compressed air can. This is a really awkward question, but I just wanted to make sure lol...

If it's a dry duster (not the wet Swiffer pads), it should work fine. Compressed air works better for electronic equipment, but a dry duster should be fine as long as it doesn't produce/hold static.

swiffer duster pads use static charge to pick up dirt. static charge and electronic devices tend to not get along

@schenley that's what I was sorta thinking... So compressed air can and liquid wipes with no alcohol/anti static would be best?

I have used Swiffer cloths for years on my laptops with no harm. Swiffers use static cling to hold dust - they do not emit staic charge. You can also use microfiber cloths - same principle. Canned air is OK, but you have to hold the laptop in such a position that the can does not tilt. Tilting the canned air can blast propellant into the target.

Any soft cloth will work fine. The general rule is if you can rub the cloth on your face and it feels soft then it is okay for cleaning things like a screen or electronics.

cleaning the outside with swiffer pads is probably ok. I thought you were talking about the inside of the computer.
