I have a nice CH Products Combatstick USB for my computer. Any chance of this thing working with GT3 on my roomate's PS2?

I'm not sure if the USB ports on the PS2 are different voltage or anything similar. I don't want to blow my $80 joystick.

Ok, let's see if you can get this very simple concept:

The PS2 has 2 USB ports.

Eh, if I had an $80 joystick I might be wary of plugging it in too. In this case though I'm going to have to agree with amnesiac, you're not going to do any damage by plugging your joystick in.

What I was getting at is that if they were not USB ports, they would be called something else, shaped differently, or you would at one point or another have been warned that they are not compatible with standard USB devices. If that were the case, WTF would be the point of having them? There's all of, what, THREE available PS2 accessories that use USB? :)

You would still need the device drivers for it to work properly.

That's what I was thinking. I'll try my stick this afternoon incase the PS2 somehow has generic drivers.
