Can I upgrade CPU fan on Dell Inspiron 570 Desktop ?

Can you point me in the right direction?

Do I need to upgrade the power supply?
If so, can you give me a link to a compatible one?
(Just a good enough value, not a Ferrari of PS's)

Do I only replace the fan, or both the heatsink/fan?
I only want a simple plug and play ...the 4 screws that go into the MB.

you wont need to upgrade the power supply, and if I remember right, the heatsink is the same as a socket 775 heatsink (bolt down type). I do know a phenom II 955 will work in the 570. you should be able to use the current heatsink/fan as you cant overclock it

the 635 is am3 95w, any phenom II 95w will work in it with the same heatsink, the 955 comes in a 95w and a 125w version, so to use a 955 make sure you get a 95w and you wont need to worry about the heatsink/fan

Thanks, but to clarify,
my problem is not the CPU itself, but upgrading the heatsink/fan b/c of recent overheating issues.

I think you're talking about upgrading the CPU and leaving the OEM heatsink/fan?
Is the phenom II 955 a big upgrade from the Athlon II X4 635? Is it worth the $50 ?
They seem comparable: http://cpuboss.com/cpus/AMD-Phenom-II-X4-955-vs-AMD-Athlon-II-X4-635
