Can I upgrad my cpu on my hp pavilion xe734??

HOw can I find out if I can upgrade the processor on my hp pavilion xe734? I have been on their website without any luck. The motherboard is unbranded. any ideas at all would be appreciated. It now has a celeron 600 and I have a celeron 1000. If I try it will it hurt anything??

That model uses the intel 810 chipset..If you download the latest bios update, and read the readme.txt file, you'll see they added support for coppermine cpu's...and i THINK that the celeron 1000 is a coppermine, not a tualitin...but you'd have to check...take a look at the readme, lots of good info in there....besides, you'll have to update the bios before installing the new processor anyway

This looks like a nightmare i feel sorry for you i hate those fan ducts, and u gotta take out the PSU to upgrade the CPU
