Can I update the graphics chip in a Dell Inspiron 3500?

I have a Dell Inspiron 3500 which is a very fine notebook for me, but it only has an ATI Mach64 4 MB chip.

Is there any way to update that chip? I would love to get a NVidia one, but even a Rage 128 with 8 MB would be a huge improvement.

The stupid existing chip doesn't even get 2D completely right, a major reason for my ATI ban.

You might want to consider getting a new motherboard, though. If you can find a 3500 mobo with a better integrated graphics card, you're good to go.
