Can i turn down the bass through itunes?

Somehow my little volume circle icon dissapeared from the task bar...so i dont have the option to do it through that i guess. any ideas how to turn my bass down through itunes?
 
This isn't too "direct", but you could play around with the iTunes Equalizer. Try changing the presets; one ("flat") has even bass.
