Can I trust listed max allowable CPU speed?

Hola mi amigos. I have a Microstar K7T-Pro2A motherboard (MSI-6330), and a Duron 600. I'm planning to get a new CPU but keep the same motherboard. The manual says it will accept CPU speeds of up to 1.2 GHz and I wanted to know if a 1.2 gig Athlon will really be compatible with my system. Has anyone heard of problems with motherboards running CPUs at the highest multiplier setting?

Thanks...

According to MSI, the K7T Turbo2, revision 5 with BIOS 3.3, will support up to an XP 2000+, or an Athlon 1.4 GHz or Duron up to 1.2 GHz. If you haven't done so then I would suggest updating the BIOS. You should have no trouble. You can view this info on this page.
