Can i test max of my RAM, and take FSB out of the equation?

I am probably going to upgrade pretty soon, and i want to try and figure out where this RAM maxes out to decide whether or not i should buy new stuff. I know i am holding my RAM back, both with a Mobile Barton, which normally doesn't like high FSB's, and an NF7-S, which normally maxes out at about 220 FSB, but mine doesn't like to run much above 212. I've been messing with the dividers, but i can't seem to figure it out: is there a way to test max frequency of my ram and take FSB out of the equation? i can of course lower the multiplier to take the CPU out, but i want to take the MB FSB out too. is this possible?

Couldnt you set the dividers so that it runs at a higher speed than your mobo runs? Like 3:6 (mobo:RAM)? That way your motherboard would be running at a low FSB but your ram would be multiplying a lot higher?

I don't think that there is a way to do that. You have to change your FSB to bring your RAM speed past 200 i think.

Not true - I have the same mobo as the OP and just tried it. Just go in and set your divider like I said - as an example you could set the divider to 4:5 and have your mobo running at a FSB of say 166 while your ram is at 415 (207.5 X 2) and you could see that your mobo is easily not being pushed while your ram is being pushed. and you could slowly increase your fsb to wherever your RAM doesnt pass memory checks and stresses. I've never done it to isolate the ram but I imagine it should work...

Ok, i will give that a try. i messed around with it for a while last night, but didn't have time to go through all the dividers. It was late, i wasn't quite thinking clearly. :D

its a board limitation that most can't go over 220, using dividers is not going to work
