Ok so I know desktops loop the starting boot(like mine did) OR beep if you are not on the right input or connected, in my case I didnt even have my TV on, smart me. -.- But no thats not the point, my computer works and im typing this on it right now. :D But as I was saying, im installing things and im bored just waiting here. While this is on, doing its stuff can I change my input on the TV from my computer(HDMI1) to my xbox (HDMI2) And my computer wont freak out or crash or whatever? If so, can I do this while its on sleep(that might sound like a retarded question but you know, its still basically on) Edit: Also adding on to the point ill have my computer on alot idle while playing xbox or watching TV, so it wouldnt just be useful to know this now anyway.

You should be able to switch the TV input while the TV and PC are on.

I have a HTPC with a 780G AMD chipset, using HDMI output to a Westinghouse 32" LCD TV. It is connected on HDMI 1, I think. HDMI 2, is connected to my Verizon FIOS HD set-top box. I switch between the two when the PC is on, whether or not the PC is on sleep mode (monitor output disabled).

I've never seen a computer beep or restart, simply because it's display output wasn't connected. If it is doing that, then it is doing that for another reason.

Well im not sure about beeping but mine was looping and wouldnt start till i turned the tv on. I just remembered it booted when i turned it on, not when it was on hdmi1. So i think it should be fine.
