Ya so im really tired, but i have two systems
System 1
athlon xp 2400
geforce fx5200
512 ram
160 gig HD
4x agp mobo
combo dvd and cdrw drive
small case

System 2
athlon xp 1700
ati radeon 9700 pro
512 ram
120 gig hd
4x agp mobo
ugly big case
CDRW, dvd 2 sep drives

Can I take my HD and video card from system to and swap it with the hd and video card in system 1. Without having to redo windows? Can I just remove the video drivers and re-install them on the new comp. Or do i have to install the cd drives or what not. Just curious, thanks. and is it even worth it? would i notice going from 1700 to 2.4. thanks in advance

Vid card: yes

Hard drive: I think theoretically you could, but you are likely to have driver conflicts because its hard to remove every last trace of the drivers. It'd make much more sense just to reinstall windows.

no on the hard drive. the windows would have the hardware setup on the old machine so it'd be a no go.

120gig and 160gig dones't really make that much of a difference. but i'd definitelt move the video card and maybe even the ram as well.
