Can I swap these CD players out?

Ok, I drive a 91' GMC Sierra and I had a Panasonic CD player installed about a year ago. It is not one of those full GM sized cd players, so will it be able to fit into a 93' Eclipse that I'm about to get? Also, how hard is it to swap out CD players and speakers?
 
Probably will need a wiring harness. Other than that, it should be relatively easy. Speakers? Are they aftermaket? Are they the same size? Also some cars are MUCH harder than others to swap out, especially in the front.
 
I'm almost positive the speakers will fit, but I just didn't know if those little Japanese cars had a different fit than other cars.

Are the speakers you are trying to put in aftermarket speakers? If so, what size are they?

ah, damn GM's 4x6 front speakers, I am plagued with them as well.

I don't know exactly what Eclipse takes, like I said, check crutchfield, but I would say 99% it does NOT take 4x6. Probably 5.25/6.5", or 5x7. If it is 5x7, you might be able to stick them in, but it wouldn't be a perfect fit. Same with 6.5".

Ok, now that I know I need more speakers, do I need another CD player too?
 
I just looked it up. 6.5" front speakers. Like I said, you *may* be able to get them in there, but it won't be a perfect fit. Worth a try before buying new speakers.

I'd imagine the head unit you have now is sitting in something to make it fit GM size? Should be able to pull that out. Will probably need a different wiring harness for the Eclipse, but the fit should not be a problem.
 
If you installed an aftermarket headunit in your GMC, in all liklihood, unless it was one of those DIN 1.5 deals (you said it wasn't), it will fit in any car, assuming enough space behind the dash. Some decks are too long and will make for a cramped fit. But, in most cases you won't have to worry about it. What you will need to get is a wiring harness (it will simplify things) and this: link.

You don't need a new head unit just because you need new speakers.

Ok, another thing (sorry, lol). Since I don't need a Cd player, is it possible to get new speakers, amps, subwoofer for about $600 - 700? The thing is, I don't need to be heard a mile away. I just want really a really clean sound, no distortion, but still a little power. I'm not sure what I'm looking for (still have a lot of research to do) but do you think it is possible for a 93' Eclipse?
 
Yes, it's possible. I would install the headunits and speakers myself and pay someone to take care of the amp. Getting an amp installed should be from $75-125. That's including the various wires and fuses, etc. Now you have about $600 left to spend on speakers and an amp.

a box for the 10 will be from 25-45 depending on the quality.

Keep in mind that this all without really caring about what you buy or trying to find a good deal. IDQ is good stuff, US Acoustics is decent, cheap, and MBQ is supposed to be good. According to Sounddomain, the components should fit with little hassle, however you should check speaker sizes yourself before actually ordering anything.
 
Dood since it's apparent you have no idea about any of this stuff (no offense), go read up on it on Crutchfield instead of repeating the same question over and over or a diff. variant of it. Every single question you've asked so far can be answered by Crutchfield.
