At work, the PC i use is a dell dimension 4600 or some such, 3ghz p4, 1gb ram, and a 128Mb radeon 9800 pro. Now this gfx card seems overkill, as i will never game on this PC, EVER, and i don't do any 3d rendering or anytrhing like that. At home, I only have a 128mb sapphire atlantis radeon 9600 pro. Can you see where this is going?
Dell PSUs and motherboards are only compatible with each other aren't they? So I was obviously wondering if my home gfx card would work in this PC, and therefore if this one would work at home.
I'll get permission from my boss at work don't worry, I'm not gna break in and steal it! It just makes sense to me obviousl,y as i'll get something for nothing, and this PC sure isn't going to show any difference.
The 9800pro often shows almost double the framratre in games at times doesn't it? compared to a 9600pro? My 9600 is sweating away at about 498/340 when benchmarking, but has had no problems. How much of a boost would the 9800pro show? I'd almost definately overclock that one too.
Many thanks,
James
