Can i sue my boss/company?

Ok now i'm pissed. If you've read my other post, you know that i got the cold/flu and it caused some trouble with my heart. So i asked another worker to cover for me today. I just talked to him and he said that my boss asked him if he wants to take over my job. Bastard. Can i sue him if he fires me for being sick? And there is like a ton of other stuff. He constantly makes me fill in for him and his friend who works there. Always threatens to fire me if i don't. That results in me working overtime all the time. In Canada, if you work over 44 hours/week, you have to get paid 1.5x extra for the hours after 44. He refuses to pay me overtime and always puts 44 on my check, and pays my regular wage for the rest. The heating there is broken and it gets pretty cold - he refuses to fix it and makes everyone freeze. Etc, etc, etc. So i was wondering if i can sue him or the company for all kinds of damages? I've had enough of this bastard! Oh and in case you're wondering why i didn't quit yet, the job pays a ton. If i quit and get another job, i'll be getting paid at least 25% less.

<< im too lazy to read all of ur post >>

ROFLMAO!😀

I don't understand what are you going to sue for......getting paid 25% more than the going rate for your job.

I'm sure you could turn in the guy and get paid all back pay, but I wouldn't plan on working there long. If you sue you also shouldn't plan on working there long. Either way you won't have the job you have presently and will have to seek new employment.

Do you know for sure there isn't another employer offering what this company is in wages?

Jerboy's long lost twin, is that you?!

lol, why don't you just turn him in for the overtime scheme?

Don't sue. Buddy up with your supervisor. Go out and have a drink some night after work. It is a lot easier when you are friends with your boss and you will probably start getting paid for that overtime. Especially making %25 more than at other places. mho

You are a moron for letting him steal from you.

LMAO at Russ 🙂

I would only do something if You get fired. If it is always cold, I mean come on. That is just sad. Make him buy you an electric heater or something. Hide it on petty cash or something.

I am unfimilar wil Canadial law, but in the US that would be a BIG lawsuit. You would win, but it would probbaly shut the company down. If they shut down, no more gravy money. Up to you man.

I actually hate lawsuits, but this is just sad.
