Can I substitute a metal pan or something for a glass casserole?

I'm making some rice/chicken/broccoli casserole and I really dont' want to amend the recipe at this point (just realized I have a 7"x11" casserole dish, not the slightly larger one).

I think if you use metal you need to be especially careful not to burn the edges of the casserole. I know just about nothing about cooking, though 🙂

In general *NO*. Glass takes forever to heat up and cool down. Metal is the opposite. Most casserole recepies take this into account, so make sure you don't end up burning it.

I guess if you don't have a glass pan, then you don't have much of a choice. Let us know how it turns out.
