I have a DFI land party ultra 4 motherboard that says the max supported cpu is 3.7 gig. I currently have a 3.7 gig processor. Can i still overclock my processor?

If you have a 3700+ then you have a 2.2GHz CPU, not a 3.7gig. I'd ignore the max cpu support for your motherboard since it will probably support any a64 you throw at it as long as the power load is not too high. Now, back to your question: can you overclock? Yes and if you do have a 3700+ then you probably have one of the best overclocking chips out there (excluding the FX series and their ludicrous price tags).

people have been able to get above 4ghz on those boards. the 3700+ runs at 2.2ghz, but its supposed to be equivelent to a 3.7ghz p4
