I've got a P75 with a severe case of OS-rot (win95) that I'm about to reformat. I was wondering if it would be just as easy to install win98. Or could it not handle it?
16meg of ram.

yeah im sure it will be able to take it, but why would you want to? you can run a perhaply stable alt-OS and would definetly run "faster" than win98. consider linux or BeOS.

You're probably better off with sticking to Win95, or at least OSR2 or OSR2.5. Seems to have less bloat than Win98.

I have had 98 running on my old 486 with a cyrix 133 OD chip with 16 meg of ram since 98 was released. It is actually much snappier than I could ever get 95 to be. It seemed to handle some of the odd hardware the machine had a bit better as well.
