I got a 1.96 .rar here and want it split into 4 500mb pieces

The problem is im on my old computer and unrared the .rar is 11gb of video i have been working on for a class and this hd has like 5gb free. I need to transfer it to my computer upstairs which isnt on the work yet. I would like to break it and at least burn to cds so i can then rip that rar onto my upstairs computer.

Hrm. You could just RAR the RAR and split it to 500MB segments. Just be sure to set compression to "store" so it doesnt try and compress it more.

why don't you just split the binary itself, and combine it later? that's probably the most obvious solution.

It's not a good idea for distrubution, but if you only need to do it once, it's quick and simple.

i hate to say it, but your best options were already presented. you probably should unrar first and then rerar using the Store mode (under compression).
