Can i SLI 650 ti boost with 750 ti?

As we all know the 650 ti boost 2gb is pretty much discontinued and a pain in the ass to get your hands on. I have ONE, Can i SLI it with a 750 2GB? i dont want to let my card go to waste...

You cannot. Nvidia SLI only works if the cards are the same. Only AMD CFX can you use two different cards.


Nvidia also doesn't allow you to SLI 750tis at all. They want you to spend more money on a better card if you want SLI.

For one thing the 650 Ti Boost is much faster than the GTX 750 and they don't sell the Boost GPU anymore. Wait for Maxwell and then grab 2 GTX 860 SLI. I have 2 GTX 760 2GB but I upgraded from 2 GTX 460 1GB. The only acceptable upgrade from your card right now is the GTX 770 2GB for around $300 U.S.

yeah, you are corrrect but i did find a ti boost 2gb to match my other one on ebay for dirt cheap i might just pick it up.

Just grab a 270X for $180. Way faster than a 650 boost and unlike nvidia AMD doesn't cripple their cards to make you buy more expensive ones, you can always add another 270X

Im running a 3D vision setup gotta stick with nvidia, and the 650 ti boost are faster then the 770, the best dollar for value is where im stuck.

Are you sure that mobo is SLI certified? My understanding was that 990X and 990FX generally were, but 970 was not. Though I've seen ASrock 970 boards that claim SLI support, so I'm not certain on that.

Because that one is not SLI certified. (You can tell, because the PCI-E is x16 / x4. SLI requires a minimum of x8 / x8.)

And i dont care if its a 750ti anything that will sli with my 650 ti boost is fine. i dont want to waste the card, so the next best thing is sli it to something close to it.

Keep your eyes open for a USED 650ti boost... Heck, place an ad looking for one! You may snag a deal on a darned good card! It might also be the only way to get one if your stores no longer sell them.

lol Thank you rick didn't think it was that hard to figure out. Already found another 650 ti boost on Craigslist thank you for the help..

And i wouldn't bother with a 760 when both of my cards sli'd are on par with a 770 or faster

That is only in games that support SLI. You really have to do the math of what your card is worth plus what you will pay for a second used one. Then consider that your buying old tech vs new tech. Either way, whatever works for you.

I'm not sure why anyone would think it is possible to do multi-GPU with different architectures :hmm:

There are 650tis all over, you don't have to match models exactly.
