Can I simply swap my 560Ti when I want more performance?

Bought my new rig at christmas and i'm hoping to be able to continue to play high end games with it for a couple years before buying new. Upgrading is a must then.

For cost reasons I got a 560TI which now is good enough, plays BF3 very well and everything else. I was just considering the future, since this is weaker than my CPU I believe and will be maxed out first?

Would it be possible to simply swap this out with a 580 in the future, or any other cards? My motherboard is P8Z68-V LX.

Are newer cards being released in the future likely to be compatible with this board or is it out of date?

It'll probably be awhile before any gpu would be bottlenecked by a 2500k. And OC'ing it would even push that timeframe out a bit more. When you're ready to upgrade the gpu, just uninstall the drivers for it, unplug your psu, pull the gpu out and put in the new one and install the drivers. Simple as that.

EDIT: yea you could put an i7 socket 1155 on that mobo if you wanted.

The chances that an i7 will be better for gaming than an OCed i5 are slim to none.

You don't want to upgrade to anything higher up the 500 series. I'd ask what your power supply is, but it seems a GTX 670 uses less power than a 560ti. So you should be in good shape.
