Can I share an internet connection over bluetooth or wifi

I want to share my internet connection in my room between my laptop and desktop. If I buy 2 usb bluetooth adapters, can I share my internet connection between them? If not, how could I do this using wifi? Specifically, my desktop is connected to a wired dsl network through a linksys router. Since our router has only 8 ports, all of which are full, I wanted to know if I can share my desktop connection wirelessly with my laptop either through bluetooth or through 802.11g/b/a cards/ usb/ pcmcia? Thanks

Well, i will try. What i would Do is get a switch with a wireless access point built into it. I dont know if they make such things, they might just be the same thing as a wireless router. As for bluetooth, they dont have very much range, and isnt really meant for long range wireless internet. Your best bet IMO would be to cruise over to netgear or linksys and check out their wireless routers.

Bluetooth is expensive slow and ?Silly?

Buy an inexpensive Wireless Cable/DSL Router, and a Wireless NIC. (CompUSA has a D-Link Deal this week).

Unplug one computer from the 8 ports, and plug the New Router into it. Plug the 8th computer into a wired port on the new Router, set it and enjoy.

The whole thing should cost around $60, and should take 20min. to set.

The New Wireless Router has to be configured as a Switch with an Access Point, instruction here:
