Can I set up Windows 2000 to log all file sharing transactions?

You have to enable "object access" auditing... hm... I think it's somewhere in the GPO  Then you go in windows explorer and right click on the folder / file you wanted to audit and choose Properties. Hm... from there you can enable auditing for that folder / file :eek::eek:

Hopefully someone more familiar with auditing can help you....

OK, I've got auditing set up. Will the accesses show up in the security logs I assume?

Yep after you setup auditing in the Policy and for the individual folders / files you wanted to audit. They will show up in your security log.
