can i sell verizon phone if I switch my line to another phone 1st?

I have a galaxy 3 under contract with verizon. I have a different phone I am activating to replace my galaxy on the same line. If I switch from the galaxy to the other phone then can I sell my galaxy? Will the galaxy be locked to verizon even tho I first put another phone on that phones number and line? Getting very conflicting info. Any help appreciated!

You should be able to. They don't really care about what you do with the phone... If you keep paying them then that's all that matters. Part of your monthly bill is the subsidy.

Ex. I bought an iPhone 5 on contract and 6 months later I sold it and bought an HTC one and switched the phone over. Rogers didn't care at all because I was still paying my bill and technically, still paying for what I still owed on the iPhone.

Yes, you can swap phones and then sell the old phone.

Yes you can. Although, you might have to either call up or go to Verizon to activate the other phone if it does not have a 4G lte sim. If it is a current generation phone with an lte sim , all you have to do is swap sims & you are golden.

I sold my still-on-contract iPhone 4S and bought a Note II. I had to go into the Verizon store to get a SIM card and that was all it took. They didn't care that I was switching phones at all.
