Can I save bring this cheddar cheese back to life?

I have a block of cheese that was sitting out all night on my counter. I'd heard that there was a way to save it/bring it back to an edible state. Can anyone enlighten me?

You can wrap up dried out cheese in a wet paper-towel or cloth, but I wouldn't trust exposed cheese that was also out of the refrigerator over night.

Scrape off the outside, the inside is prolly OK. Works for mold too ;)

nuke it, then put it in a block mold, then put into the fridge. nobody will ever know the difference :)

If it's been sitting out overnight without refrigeration, I would throw it away. By this time, it's probably a breeding ground for all sorts of fun little microorganisms that would gladly set up shop in your digestive system.

I just asked my mother (stays at home with 5 kids)..she said it's probably ok..put it back in the fridge.

It's probably good - if it gets moldy, cut the mold off and eat the rest. :)
