Can I run multiple BF2BC computers thru the same router?

I'm having trouble getting my two machines running BF2BC on my home network.
The machines both see server, and can join, but after about a minute they both get disconnected.

I'm wondering if this is due to incorrect port forward - my router allows me to forward ports to a certain IP -- and since I have multiple machines, I'm not sure how this affects the game... i.e., since one machine can't be port-forwaded, is what I'm asking impossible to do?

Can you play fine with one computer connected? Once the second gets in the server, the first, or both are disconnected?

This was happening to my little brother when his friend came over.

With just one machine, it works 75% of the time -- I still have infrequent random disconnect issues.

However, with both machines, we've never been able to play for more than a few minutes.

i've had 9 people at a mini lan party all going through my router (WRT54L with DD-WRT) without issue. no changes were needed on the router side. when playing at a friends house with some cheap bestbuy brand router, we had issues. only way to play was to have each user use a non-default port. i dont recall the range you can use but we found it searching the ea forums at the time.
