Can I run a web server from a Linux LiveCD?

Can I run a web server using one of those 'LiveCD' (boot linux from a CD) from Knoppix or similar?

Just wanted to play around with it. I am not going all out and installing Linux.

It's possible. Some of the NetBSD guys ran webservers from their dreamcasts on "live cds" for a while, IIRC.

Sure, you can even install whatever software you want on the latest Knoppix discs IIRC.

Before there was a LiveCD that booted a counter-strike server. 😀

think so...I have to emerge samba and apt-get install samba to mount remote shares on my live cd's. You may need to moutn a drive to hold content though.
