Can I run a P4 2.53 in my DELL?

I know the 2.53GHz has a 533MHz FSB and my Dell P4 1.7GHz has a 400MHz FSB but I was wondering if I plug the 2.53 in my mobo if it will just run at the slower settings?? If not then I guess I've got a 2.53 to sell. Thanks,

I would try it but I don't want to fry anything. Dell doesn't give very many options for adjusting things in the BIOS.

Go to the Dell support page, and look for the newest BIOS update. If you can see it saying "updated for 533Mhz FSB CPU's" then odds are it can.

If its a socket423, then no way.
