I am thinking about buying my friends geforce 6800. Will i be able to run it on a 350 watt power supply? I had it running for about 4 hours with no problems. Will it cuase any problems if I run it long term?

Yeah, and no, lack of power should not be a problem other than your computer crashing during a taxing game.

It depends on what the rest of the computer amounts to. If it's just a basic system with a quality 350w power supply you might be able to get away with it.

My system is a:
P4 2.8
Asus P4800
120 gb SATA HD
80 gb SATA HD
Radeon 9600xt
350 watt antec power supply

Depends on how many amps are on the 12v. Good quality PSU you can probably do it no problem. A crappy one thats a different story.

It'll should be fine. Here's what I have running off a 350W Antec PSU:

A64 2800+
DFI Lanparty NF3 250Gb
2x160GB HD
1GB RAM
6800
NEC 3520A
48x CD-RW

Haven't had any problems at all.

I think that's pushing it. The specs call for 400w.

The specs for my BFG 6800 only call for 300W.
