Assuming you don't go nuts with the peripherals you should be okay. If you're planning on a bunch of drives, fans, neon, etc you may need more.

If you don't want to buy a new PSU right now, first try it with 300 Watt, if the system runs fine (stable), you can either choose to get a new PSU just in case you're getting some more peripherals, or wait till you start adding more cards/peripherals and notice a decrease in the stability of the system (especially lockups and sudden reboots).

A 400 Watt PSU should be more than enough for any 1.4 GHz Athlon system.

A friend just tryed it with about the same amount of stuff you have. His CD-ROM stopped working, his computer froze sometimes and he got 12 bad sectors on his hard drive.

Got a new case with a 400 watt and his system works fine now.

Just keep an eye on the +5V and +12V rails under load. If they dip real low or fluctuate a lot, you are probably taxing your PSU. I just built a 1.4ghz system for a customer with a Sparkle 300W and it was very steady on the +5V rail, and it never dipped below 5.0v...:)

Yes, but here's when you get into trouble with 1.4's on 300W. It's when you use high speed Vid Cards (GF2 Ultra or GF3) and also when ocing. Then you can get into trouble but u should be ok. If not, then just buy a 400W for $30-40.

what the hell?

why do people keep asking this question...OF COURSE you're ok...
why are people under the impression that they require 290348230 watt power generators for their measly little computer systems...

i swear it's only this forum or something.
