Can I run 802.11b and 802.11g on the same network simultaneously?

I'm currently running a wireless router and laptop at 802.11g, but want to add another laptop and my tivo (wirelessly). Can I buy the cheaper 11b adapters for these devices and allow them to connect at 11b while my main laptop connects at 11g, or does the router have to run on one or the other? If it helps I'm using a D-Link DI-624 wireless router.

Thanks in advance!

Yes you can.

However 802.11g get depressed in the presence of 802.11b signal.

How much? It depends No all Hardware behave the same way, some brings the 802.11g to the level of the 802.11b, most depress the bandwidth by about 50%.

In addition to what JackMDS said the TiVi will really need the extra bandwidth from 802.11g. You should't cripple its performance with 802.11b.
