Hi, i am just wondering for the future if i am gonna need to upgrade Ram from 2x256 (512mb) on my abit IS7 (i865) do I have to run 4x256 or 4x512 in other words same size DIMMS or I can have 1st and 3rd 2x256 and 2nd and 4th 2x512 for a total of 1.5gb?

I am not really sure if you are allowed to interchange the size of the dimms and still maintain a dual channel environment. Any response would be appreciated. Thanks.

From page 2-3 of your motherboard's manual:
When installing FOUR DIMM modules: Install DIMM modules of the same type and size for slots [DIMM1]+[DIMM3], and slots [DIMM2]+[DIMM4].

Ok so as long as I install same 2 modules (2x256) in slots 1 and 3 and 2x512 in slots 2 and 4 everything shoudl still work fine in dual channel from what you've told me?
