Can I rig a CueCat to help me make a home "Library?" [UPDATE -- FOUND DVD-PROFILER-LIKE SOFTWARE FOR BOOKS!]

I'm finally going to RadioShack today to pick up a CueCat. My question is this:

My family's got books. Lots of books. Probably about 500-600. What I want to know, is can I use CatNip and a CueCat to scan the barcodes and somehow get all the information from some online database of ISBN or library of congress numbers?

My mom's a librarian and has no idea.

I have a copy of Access 2000 - is there anyway I can make my own home "library" catalog using my books' barcodes, MS Access 2000, and a CueCat hacked w/CatNip?

Thanks a lot - I know it's a tough question.

Mike

::EDIT:: I found Readerware to help catalog books. It's compatible w/CueCats and it also looks up ISBN numbers to help catalog. It's only a 30-day trial though - after that, it's $30 to continue using it. Looks pretty cool, though.

That would be a useful tool for my CD collection (nearly the same size as your book collection). Unfortunately, I don't know the answer. Anyone else?

I know there is a site that if you install there drivers instead of the cue cat. It turns the cue cat into a standard bar code reader. I have not tried it yet. AS I am waiting for my cuecat to arrive. the site is http://cuecatastrophe.com/. I also know there is a site that has a program that you can use to build a dvd libray. It is DVD Profiler. You could start there ....
