I'm just curious here... Target policy states:
"Target Stores Return Policy

We will issue a full refund for most items returned within 90 days in new condition, with the original receipt, packaging and accessories. A form of personal identification may be required.

Also, please note:

* Music, movies, video games, software and collectibles must be returned unopened.
* Camcorders, digital cameras, portable DVD players and portable electronics are subject to a 15% restocking fee.
* Holiday and Seasonal merchandise on clearance at the time of the return will be refunded at the current clearance price.
* Any purchase made by check may be refunded as a merchandise voucher.
* Refund value for each item returned will be reduced to reflect value of free gift or discount.
* Other restrictions may apply."

They say video games must be returned unopened. I'm not sure if that includes hardware or not. Well I purchased my 360 and have been playing it for a month now. I still have all of the original packaging and my original receipt. Nothing is wrong with the console, I've just decided I want an Elite instead. Has anyone returned to Target just because they changed their mind? Will they let me do it or will I get shot down?

You better have your flamesuit on, because you're about to get roasted. You're an idiot for even thinking about doing this.

You should be able to. Just tell them you weren't satisfied with it. They'll either not care or give you a dirty look but its their policy, so if they make a fuss take it to another one or ask to see the manager.

Didn't see the last part of the OP's post.

"It's the wrong one, I'd like to exchange it for the elite version and pay the difference."

There you go.

Just go grab a water pistol from the toy department before you return it, if they say no, convince them otherwise.

Why not call them and ask?

It is technically a portable electronic. They make carrying cases for it. I know a lot of fire fighters who carry them around all over the place. Get ready to eat a 15% restocking fee, but it would be worth it to upgrade it, me thinks.

Why do you think he only has 80 posts? He has no reputation to worry about, so who cares?

If you tell them you want the elite, it will soften their skin. I say you have a decent chance, but be ready to pay the 15%.
