I am thinking about replacing the passive northbridge cooler on the Bad Axe because it is do tall. However, it is also a rectangle shape which is weird because aren't most chips square.

I have tried to search around the net and I haven't seen anyone that has replaced the passive cooler. I am just wondering if it can be done???

Ofcourse it can be done.
There are several chipset coolers in the market.
But I wouldn't change the cooler to a similar performing cooler.
Especially if your problem is...that it's tall :D

I preffer having a cool chipset, than a hot and overclock-restrictive one.
Thus I chose... ThermalRight HR-05 :)

If I had the room to put something like the HR-05 on there I would. Since I am installing the XP-120 for the CPU heatsink, I don't think the HR-05 will fit. However, I might check it out once I have the XP-120 installed.

Hopefully they are compatible since they are made by the same company, but who knows!
