Can I remove my HSF and put it back on without new thermal compound?

I would guess not but I'm hoping I'm wrong. I dont have any at the moment and my HSF is so clogged up my computer is overheating.


 
Yeah ive done it plenty of times. I wouldn't do it on my OCed rig though.

I take it this will be a temporary solution?
