Can i reduce lag by installing a game on a flash drive?

im playing cod4 with only 1gb ram and my computer isnt worth upgrading, specially since it uses ddr 400 and prices are high.

I enjoy the occasional cod4 on my pc , it runs surprisingly well on amd athlon 64 3200 with a radeon x800 and 1 gb ram on XP, but i do get the occasional lag from hard drive access, im assuming the paging file cause the hd light blinks.

i have a ata, sata and a flash drive with 4gb .

which do install the game on for best performance ?

also, try moving your page file to the opposite HD of where you install the game
