Can I put two WiFi network cards on a PC and make it a repeater or range extender?

Perhaps. If your running XP you could bridge those two cards and the traffic would be forwarded on. The caveat there is you'd have to run the second card in Ad Hoc as well as the other cards using it to get data. You could get real elaborate and have an AP on the other end with wired workstations running off it. I'd have to try that to know for sure if it would work but it would in theory. Not worth the effort though. Would have no bearing on your signal strength unless the second card you buy has better range.
