Can I put my Teac CD-RW drive as master (secondary IDE)?

I know its kind of a silly question, but I've read in some posts (here in Anandtech and other forums) that CD-RW drives are typically a slave drive (Secondary IDE) for most folks. I just picked up a Teac CD-RW drive (24x10x40) and would like to make that drive the master drive in my Secondary IDE and put my 3 year old DVD-ROM drive as slave. I figure it would be better that way and will use the new Teac drive as my "everyday use" drive since it will certainly be faster than my 3 year old DVD-ROM drive.

So is that ok to do? CD-RW drives behave fine as a master drive? thanks in advance..its much appreciated.

Yes. Actually, the best config on a 3 drive system would be to have your HD as Primary Master, CD/DVD as primary slave, then your CDRW as secondary master. Having your CD and CDRW on different IDE channels is better for faster on-the-fly burning.
