Can I put duck tape over a heater vent ? Or am I just stupid ? [pic!]

I have this heater that runs along my far wall in my dorm room. Unfortunetly my printer can really only go infront of it, no room for it elsewhere. The heater does not put out a lot of heat, you can barely feel it most of the time. It is closed but there is still heat coming out of it, I figured that it couldn't be to great for my printer so I put duck tape behind it over the portion of the vent. Will the duck tape melt or put something wierd into the air?

Meh I'm going to take it off, I guess I was bored. Still though opinions ?

lets look at this logically. duck tape is a brand of duct tape. what does the air travel through to get to your vent? ducts, perhaps?

Hahaha, yes it's ok to use duct tape on HVAC ducting, that's what it was created for.

Otherwise use a small piece of cardboard to serve that purpose.

heh, actually it was originally called duck tape in World War II, because it was going to be used as a tape on amphibious vehicles, or 'Ducks,' thus Duck Tape, but yes the current correct usage is Duct tape
