I have a Sony VGN-FE550G. Getting long in tooth, just installed Win7 on it. I'd like an SSD in here if possible.
My main concern is about the SATA interface on this laptop, not sure if can support SSD's, and/or if it can support the full performance of SSD's.
This is the HDD that's currently in it (factory default). It's a 5400 rpm, and the interface is SATA 1.5Gb/s. Would current SSD's work in this machine, and would this interface be enough to use full performance of the SSD?
Also, are there certain SSD's to avoid? 80GB would probably work, but 100+GB would be ideal.
