I have heard that some motherboard sockets were backwards compatible, I have an AMD athlon 64 3700+ socket 754 and I just bought an Albatron K8X890 ProII socket 939. will this work?
I certainly haven't heard of anything of that nature since Socket 5 was first discussed. The 754 and 939 are *WAY* different! All you have to do is see the pin side of each once, and you might be able to tell if you look at the sockets themselves with the MB's adjacent (haven't tried that). Visit the AMD web site, why don't you?
