Can I put a new video card in a Dell Dimension 4600?

I wanted to know if I can upgrade my video card in this system. I bought Everquest II recently and am having some major choppiness/lag issues when I'm in denser player areas and during big fights with lots of stuff going on.

First of all, is this possible? Second of all, can anyone recommend what card to get?
 
You can put a new card in there no problem, just let us know what kind of budget you have to spend.

 
I've been told that the Radeon 9800 Pro would be a good one to get. My budget would be probably no more than ~$250ish.

Also, any concerns about power supply?
 
For slightly more than 250 you can get a 6800 nu or for around 210 you can get a 6600 gt. IMO those will future-proof you more. Though, the 9800 pro would probaby suit you just fine. Dell power supplies are rated 250 w median output, but they max closer to 330-350 w. I installed a 6800 nu on my old Dimension 8100 and have no problems whatsoever. Good luck. 🙂
