Can I plug my z640's into a home theater receiver?

So I have a dolby digital receiver, and I thought I could hook up my logitech z640's to it, but this doesn't look like the best idea. I want to use the speakers to watch tv and DVD's in surround. I was initially planning on just stripping the cable on all of the satellites and putting them into the receiver like they were normal speakers, but I think they might be overpowered and FRY. Also, the subwoofer and center channel connection isn't exactly easy, as it's integrated into the logitech's amp system. Any ideas? I don't really want to buy new speakers.

if I recall correctly the Z640 uses high level inputs on all it's speakers to the amp, eg minijack plugs not bare or standard speaker wire so it's gonna be a large hastle setting it up to work w/ your HT reciver, I'd suggest looking into some new speakers if you want to hook them up to your HT reciver w/out hastle.

I hook mine up to the TV using RCA audio cables. I think my z-640s came with a minijack-to-RCA adapter (the red and white audio cables), so I just use that. Sounds good. I dunno if you'll get true surround sound tho, you have to use the Matrix button to mix the right and left front channels to the center channel. Oh well, it's better than TV audio :D

do your z640s have a digital coax or optical input. If so most DVD players have optical and Digi coax outputs.

those rca's are only L and R...isn't there a better way to get the surround?

not that I know of, unfortunately. like I said, they do a better job than the TV at audio, but I wish I could have real surround sound with them. I want to get the z-680s sometime and hook them up digitally...that's about all I can think of lol.

OK, I tried using my friend's z560 satellite on a speaker out, and it sounds very quiet. Is this because the impedance on these small computer speakers is just really high? are there cheap, small, wall mountable speakers that I should be looking into?
