Can I play Split Screen with Monitor AND TV?

I have a GF FX 5200, and I have a normal TV, NO HDTV, but I made an horizontal Extension of my screen, in order to play, for example, a racing game, such as TOCA Pro Race Driver, in split screen mode, and my objective, WHAT I WANNA DO IS to play myself with the monitor, and player number two (a friend, etc), in the TV.
Is it possible?
How?
I extended the desktop to the TV, but when I launch a game, the TV goes to black screen, and nothing happens. On the other hand, in my Monitor the game runs flawlessly.
