Can I play Quake 4 without the DVD?

I got the DVD edition of Quake 4 for Christmas, but I don't have a DVD drive. I borrowed my aunt's DVD drive to install it, but I have to put it back in her computer and I don't want to wait a week (until my DVD drive I order comes) to play the game. Is there a patch or something I can download?

Yep. There are no cd and no dvd patches for the game.

As an alternative to a no-cd patch, you could just download the v. 1.0.4 patch. Or even the v. 1.0.5 beta. They remove the need for a CD.

Cool, thanks. I read the description of the patches, but it didn't say anything about not needing a CD/DVD, so I wasn't sure about it.

Wow thats cool. I have a grip of games installed, how can I play them without CD/DVD in the drive. Any patch or software that will do that?
