Can I play Day Of Defeat Source With a Steam Account from HL2?

I have the original version of Half-Life 2(Come with CS Source) with my steam account. but I just wonder do I have to pay for the Day Of Defeat Source? I can borrow the CD from my friend to install it but I do not know if that would screw up my steam account if that is not allow. Thank you for nay advices.

Unless you bought the Silver or Gold edition of HL2 through Steam, or I think the Collectors Edition retail, then no, you can't.

DOD:S is not included with HL2 Bronze or basic retail version.

You can buy DOD:S for $20 through Steam.

You can install it sure. But it won't work. DOD:S would need to be activated for your account.

Collector's retail didn't include it either.
