Can I overclock Intel CPU with Integrated Graphics enabled?

I tried googling, but couldn't get anything useful to come up. Most of the people who overclock use external GPU and have on die graphics disabled. I intend to upgrade my HTPC before the end of the year and I would prefer to use integrated graphics for simplicity, but I would also like to OC the CPU. So I am curious if I can overclock an ivy bridge/haswell i5/i7 cpus while having integrated graphics enabled. Is it possible? Will having integrated graphics enabled affect the overclock?

Oh yes. Take a look at BallaTheFeared's posts, he overclocks both a Haswell and its IGP and gets some pretty nice gaming results.

It will generate more heat within your cpu die, which could reduce your maximum OC if you end up temp limited.

I run my 3570K with integrated iGPU enabled at 4400 every day all day with no problems. At 4500, voltage/heat becomes an issue with heavy use apps like Handbrake, so I stay at 4400.

I'm picking up Haswell soon (coming from a Q9450). Can you turn off the integrated GPU or underclock it then in order to reduce heat?

You can disable the IGP on bios, but it will always draw a very small amount of power, the effect on heat should be minimal to nothing.
