MSI g45 z77
intel i7 2600k @ 3.8ghz stable
pc15000 ram at 1866mhz XMProfile or w/e its called

i set the voltage in bios on cpu to 1.1500 and in CPU-Z it shows 1.136v
im running constant 3.8ghz i know im not really overclocked but i run programs 24/7 on pc that require full blast cpu usage

should i raise or lower my voltage and bios? and do you think i can squeeze 4.2ghz or 4.0ghz with this setup?

Your 2600k can easily do 4.2ghz @ 1.30v

Your voltage is way low tho to be any where nera 4.2Ghz ,,,,,,,, gl

Go higher as long as your cooling can support it, you might even be able to hit 4.0GHz without changing the voltage. You should be able to reach 4.2 easily.

Otherwise... "Yes", if you want to be extra safe, keep it under 1.4volts, or under 85C whichever comes first... lots of threads about OCing 2500/2600K
