Can I OC my P4 1.6 in my Compaq

Hello, I have a Compaq 5320 US and it has a 1.6 ghz cpu. I am not planning on keeping this too much longer, I'll be building one soon to take to college. I don't know any details on my mobo or cpu, but I would love to know what I can do to check and know if I can OC it. Anyone else done this?

most likely not
i dont think compaq would have any bios options to do so

nor would they ahve a good heatsink on there to allow any ocing

take a look around the bios for cpu freq, but im pretty sure you are stuck (besides, if its a willamette, it wont oc much anyways)

Go here to see where to find the PLL for your board then download CPUcool and see if it supports your's as the list on the site isn't as up to date as the program itself. If it's there you can overclock the FSB unless it returns a "false PLL, manufacturer did not implement support" message like you'd get with a Dell.

Is that freeware software?

CPUcool is shareware but when I used it the only thing paying for it would do was get rid of the reminder message, other than that it was the full feature set.

Well, any luck? or is it hard locked to the FSB with no options like the Dells are?

It's is now OC'ed. But not with this program. Stabily it can only push it to 73FSB. So I did the BSLE0 pin trick to get it to 100fsb. But it failed Prime95 testing till I did the Wire Trick to get it to 1.85 volts.

Now she is @ 900MHz.
