Using Antec P182 case. Since its a tower, my mobo will be perpendicular to the ground, and hence if i just whacked the Zalman on it would be sideways like this

will gravity make the zalman sag? and if so what can i do to remedy this? i had a really heavy gfx card before that had this problem...

Also, will both Zalman and tuniq tower fit inside the Antec P182 case? and if so which is quieter? (i am trying to build a very quiet PC)

that is what some call a "cantilevered load".

yes, it will sag. but you might need metrology equipment to measure
how much.

just be careful when you move it. one little transient could deliver
a load 100x the static load to your MB/CPU.

I take it you're new to this stuff but that's how the tower heatsinks are. Good heatsinks come with motherboard backplates which keep them steady on your motherboard. No worries.

You didn't specify which Zalman you wish to use but at least the newer ones aren't really known for quietness, which is kind of funny since they use the slogan Computer Noise Prevention System as part of their model numbering (CNPS), but they are good coolers, though not nearly as good as tuniq tower and cost about the same I think.

Personally I don't like the tuniq tower because it's so huge, so if you're making me choose, I'd take the Zalman 9500 LED. If you want quiet, you want something else.

ok, outside of water cooling whats an aircooling solution that is both quiet and has good efficiency, but in the same price range as the zalman 9700?

It's kind of impossible to go quiet and cool if your not willing to shell out more for a Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme and a Nexus fan. But does the noise bother you when gaming when you have to use the fan on full speed? If not, you would be satisfied with Zalman 9500 Cu/LED or Zerotherm BTF-90. They are both quiet when not on full speed and perform well.
