Friend wants to upgrade his computer.

He only has two slots for RAM.

He just purchased PC2100 512mb.
He wants to get another 512mb. I cannot find any deals anymore on PC2100.

I am thinking about advising him to buy a PC3200 512MB since there are deals for 3200 as opposed to 2100.

However, can he have both of these running at the same time? Would there be issues such as voltage & stability by mixing?

Will the mobo will automatically bump down the PC3200 to 2100 speed? Or will he have to do some config set ups?

I am not that computer savy so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks & no, I have not taken a look at his mobo myself.

Yes they can both be used at the same time at the lower speed. I would even consider just running the faster 512 depending on his processor
